lost emails

i wanted to convert an older PST to the 2007 format. So I created a new PST
with a different name than my original one. BUt my mistake was to call the
folder with the same name as the original one. Outlook simply froze up.. And
I could not restart Outlook if I didn't delete the new PST I created. Finally
it launched, but it said that it could not find the new PST. I clicked cancel
and closed the new folder. But I noticed that the old folder was now empty. I
lost all my emails! Any way to recuperate any of this? My newest backyp is
from about 6 months ago...

Then it probably over-wrote the old pst file. If that happened then the only
source of data you have is your back-up created 6 months ago.
if you have data that is important then you MUST backup at LEAST once a
week.
