Lost File On Disk

Liz

I have Word documents saved on a floppy disk. I opened
the floopy disk to reveal the directory fine one day, but
the very next day, the file didn't open. I recieved error
messages indicating that the disk is not formatted. Is
there any way that I can retrieve the documents from the
disk. I have tried to go through DOS and use the "copy"
and "diskcopy" commands, but to no avail.

Please help!

Unfortunately you have learnt the hard way that floppies are a very
unreliable storage medium. You also leant that you should NEVER save or open
a document from a floppy. Always save the document to the hard disk first
and then copy it to the floppy. Also copy from the floppy to the hard disk
before opening a document.
