lost files in folders

Sir --

When I want to move a message from the Inbox to another folder for permanent
storage, I find that the message is hidden in the destination folder. I can
find it only by going into the "Find" module and it comes up. But in the
folder itself it seems to be missing.
Tonite I tried to move four messages from the same person to a storage
folder. Only one was visible in the destination folder. The other three
"disappeared", although I know they were there because I pulled them up with
the "find" feature.

What gives? Can I fix the problem?

Microsoft's Help system has landed you in the wrong newsgroup: this
one is for the database program Microsoft Access.

Please use the dropdown box (the one that says "Access" by default)
to select a more appropriate newsgroup, one for the mail program you
happen to be using.

Although you're posting in the wrong group, it occurs to me that maybe
your mail folders' View settings are set to view unread messages only.
I'm not sure whether you're talking about Outlook, Outlook Express, or
some other mail program, but in Outlook Express, for example, you can
click the menu items View -> Current View -> Show All Messages for each
folder. That, or something like it, may be an answer to your problem.
