Lost ID number

Recently I used my restoration disc to clear my Compaq Presario 1200 laptop C drive. When I went
to reinstall Office 2000 I was asked for the 25 character Identification Number which I no longer have.
Can anyone suggest a way to get this information or make the installation without it?

Contact Compaq (HP) - the OEM should always be your first point of
reference - you cannot install the product without a valid key.
