Lost my drop-down menus!

Here's an interesting one...I've lost all ability to use
drop-down menus on any document in Word for Office 2000,
running Millenium Edition. Nothing, including
uninstalling and reinstalling, has worked. When I open
Word, the layout is a textbox with no drop-down menus
above, and only a few simple buttons to the bottom left,
with no File, Edit, Tools, etc. menus at the top
whatsoever. There's no way to print or edit, and only way
to save is by closing (the "x" box is still there) and
answering yes to the default "save changes?" question.

This is too bizarre....anyone have any ideas?

The only thing bizarre about this is the NG in which you've chosen to post
it. If you'd selected .word.customization.menustoolbars or
..word.application.errors, you'd have seen dozens of "missing menus" posts,
all with the same answer: see
