Robert

after re-installing front page, I imported my web site from the web. went to edit the home page, but all the content was gone. Didnot try to save a empty page, so tried to view the home page in the browser. all the content was there. How can I get the content back so I can see it and edit it.? infact, all the content on all the web pages is gone !!! but each individual file can be viewed in a browser.I never had this problem with frontpage 98 Please Help

Define "import".

If you use the Import command on the File menu, that's
most likely your problem. You need to open the remote site
in FrontPage, and then Publish it back to a local folder.

If you customarily publish by FTP, then open the remote
site in your FTP program, copy the whole site back to an
empty folder on your disk, and then choose Open Site from
the FP File menu and open that folder.

Sound like your page is missing one or more of the following, </table>, </body> or </html> tags.

Ok, thanks.. I removed the site I stored on disk, and went to open my online web site with front
page. Wanted to see if I could edit the home page live, so I clicked on index.html but the file in
the editor came up blank, it does have the shared borders and nav structure., but no page content.
If I preview my home page in a browser, it is normal. What could it be??

ok, I published it to the local hard drive, and my index.html is still blank in the editor, but when I view it in the browser, its ok, wonder what it could be, I have been going over and looking at all of the options, could it be a setting in ms word?

MS word is not the FP editor. FrontPage is. So, I'm not sure where you're
going with the MS Word.

BTW, I didn't have anything attached to my message ;-)

I have no idea how or if ms word figures into this, but it seems like a
editor problem to me, if I import or publish I end up with the same results,
a blank web page in the editor, but the file can be viewed in the browser
with all content and everythoing intact., its just driving me bananas. by
looking at the html in the editor, I realy do have a blank page staring at
me..... Now, I will read to see what you have attached to your message, I
realy hope it helps. Thanks..

Every single page that has shared borders is blank in the front page editor. Pages that do not have shared borders are visable....... considering the blank pages in the editor, if I click the file name in the left pane, and view the so called blank page in the browser, the page is ok and 100% intact

Open the shared border pages in your _border folder and make sure that they are not missing any
ending </table>, </body> or </html> tags.

Also check the pages that the shared border is also included in.

Thomas, That fixed it. It looks like the top border page did not save properly, and the </> tags were missing. I put the </> tags back where they were supposed to go, and now, Im a happy man, Thanks a million, I almost had a camp fire with frontpage 2003, it was a hair puller. !!!! Thanks again to you and every one else that helped
