Office 2003 Student Ed. Unfortunately the email correspondence and proof of
purchase was not saved. Please advise.

I actually bought directly from MS so I will check the activation
documentation and give them a call to see if they have a record I am sure I
registered it.

Lesson learned about not backing the info up somewhere other than on your
computer.

Without proof of purchase, you're pretty much out of luck. Contact whomever
you bought the software from to see.

So, you blame them because you can't prove you purchased it? Registration
isn't proof of ownership. Receipts are.

It gets you on an anonymous mailing list for new products.
Then why register?

It's a marketing gimmick to get you on mailing lists. It's optional.

No, it's not spam. You register, you authorize it. It's not unsolicited.
