Lost subpages and notes when synching

It never fails, I just posted to a California attorneys listserve saying that
ON 2007 was a Killer App. But, when I synched my notes from a trial today
with my office computer, I now have lost all the subpages for my witnesses'
testimony and my handwritten (Toshiba M200) digital ink notes.

To make matters worse, my ability to link to my wireless internet connection
is also lost and I cannot seem to get it working.

Has this problem of losing subpages and digital ink notes happen before?

I have recovered my wireless connection, but the subpages and digital ink
notes are definitely gone from the laptop on which they were made.

I found the backup site but the notes were not found either on the Office
server - where the notebooks are stored - or in the backup folder on the
laptop. It appears that the notes are gone.

This is a disaster and I must either find a way to insure against this
happening, or it's goodbye to ON. That's really sad because since using ON
I've been systematically transferring 25 years worth of Knowlege in my
particular niche law practice.

You also asked: <Did your computer ever state that the cache needed to be

No I did not see such a message.

Ed, are you using Windows Offline Caching for the folders that you open in
OneNote as notebooks? (e.g. you might have My Documents redirected to a
server). Also, is the laptop running Vista?

If the answer to both questions above is "yes" then I'd recommend you do not
use Windows Offline Folders for OneNote notebooks. Create a UNC share on any
of your machines and then open it in OneNote from all others you need to
access your notes on. OneNote will take care of sync and replication of edit
between all of them.

One last chance to get back the data, is to check the special "Misplaced
Sections" notebook, if it was created you'd have a link to it at the bottom
of the Notebook Navigation pane.

We are trying to catch and diagnose the integration bug between Vista CSC
and OneNote, we'd appreciate if you could share more information about how
your notebooks are setup.

Many thanks,
Irina
