Lost Word 2001 in crash of my Mac OS X 10.1.2-Retrievable?

My iMac flatpanel was a gift with Word 2001 already installed. Recently, it
crashed bigtime and I I I I had to do software Restore (6 CDs) but no
Word/Office reappeared. Stupid question, I guess: is--is there any possible
way to retrieve the software? Any way to download from a site or do I have to
buy it and install again. No luck on eBay. I'm poor as a churchmouse, getting
old and thinking this Apple stuff is more than I can handle.

There's no way to get it for free, so if you hadn't made any backups it's
gone. You could ask the person who gave you the gift.

I'm surprised ebay didn't have copies--also note that Office 2001 runs in
Classic within OS X, if you are buying a new copy you might as well consider
Office 2004 which is native to OS X and the most current version. But
Office 2001 is likely to be cheaper. I know some Mac online stores still
carry it but not whether they have marked it down.

By the way, these types of questions should be directed to the Mac-specific
