Mac 2004: Illustrator CS EPS previews appear in negative

T

Tim Murray

I've been using Word with EPS graphics for many years, mostly from
Illustrator.

Now, with the combination of Word 2004 and Illustrator CS, I find that the
on-screen preview is a negative (whether I use TIFF or Mac/PICT previews),
but it prints okay.

Other EPS files, such as those saved out of Acrobat, are okay, as are older
pre-CS Illustrator. This would indicate a problem with Illustrator, except
that I'm pretty sure I've used these in Word v.X and didn't have the problem.
(I've been using 2004 for only a week now.)

Someday I may get around to loading up CS in Windows, bring some EPS over to
Mac, and test it, but I rarely use Windows.

So, if someone has the combination of Word v.X (or older) and Illustrator CS,
would you test it and let me know if older Word shows Illustrator CS previews
properly? Thanks.

G'day Tim Murray <[email protected]>,

From what I've seen EPS is a relatively loose standard with looser
implementations. Some of the variations have always been 'unviewable'
in other applications that supposedly support EPS - even adobe <=>
Adobe.

I'm having the same problem. Have you found any solution yet? My email
is jeff_syrop@ yahoo.com (delete the spaces after @). This is very
frustrating since I have just done a huge project with EPS's in Word
v.X that displayed and printed and PDF's PERFECTLY. Now I'm forced to
turn my EPS's into big JPG's if I want to see them properly in the
document.

Thanks,
