Mac connection to exchange server

We have a mail server running Exchange Server 5.5. For the
first time I'm trying to connect a Mac Client using
Outlook Mac 2001. I'm using Appletalk connection on Mac.
When I'm configuring Outlook the following error occurs.
network problems are preventing connection to the
Microsoft Exchange Server computer. I can logon to the
Exchange server computer via network. Can anybody help me?
Is there anything to be installed on the server?
Thanks
Tine

Hi Tine!

Do you have a reason for using Appletalk instead of TCP/IP for your
connection? TCP/IP won't require a shared volume from the server for you
to connect to and is faster.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your reply. No reason except that I was told
TCP/IP will not work. If you can tell me what should be
done, I'll be glad to use TCP/IP.
Thanks again.

Hi Tine!

TCP/IP does work but I can't tell you if your environment will support
it. Your network must support TCP/IP, which is the most common protocol
in today's business networks and you must have your Macs properly
configured. If your PCs are connecting and using IP then your Macs can
too.

This page doesn't offer a how-to for setup but it may give you an idea
of what you need to do on the Macs to make the connection

Hope this helps! bill
