Mac files not opening on PC

My Word for Mac files are saved to a CD and I'm trying to
open them on a PC with Office XP. Never had a problem
until yesterday when the PC gave me an error message the
fiels were locked - password protected - etc. They are
not protected - they just won't open suddenly. Recently
updated all files from various websites. Any ideas?

First just try copying them from the CD to the Windows hard disk, and open
the copies there. Make sure you have included the ".doc" extension when
saving teh docs on the Mac (or add it in Windows) because they won't open
inb Word Windows otherwise. And files on a CD _are_ locked - they can't be
modified - so copy them to HD first.

If none of this works, come back.
