Mac --> Windows problems with Asian font "MS PGothic"

I've read countless posts about problems caused by Asian fonts in PP
for Mac 2004 -- and now I have to add my own, because I haven't found
a solution.

Most posters have complained about "missing font" errors. That is not
my problem (as far as I can tell).

My problem is that an Asian font called "MS P-------" (probably "MS
PGothic") is automatically included in my presentation's font list
(presumably because Mac OS and/or Office requires it) and it makes my
presentations unusable by my Windows-using client. My presentation
opens as "Read only" in Windows. My client opened the "Replace
Font..." tool to investigate and found listed MS PGothic with a
question mark next to it. But, since the presentation is "Read Only",
the client is unable to replace the font.

Must my client install MS PGothic? (Is it even available for Windows?)
Can I do anything to prevent this problem from happening in the first
place?

I am using PowerPoint for Mac 2004, version 11.2.4 (060501), on Mac OS
10.4.8.

My sympathies. I just installed 2004 myself and PowerPoint bellyaches about a
few missing Asian fonts every time it starts up.

This is unusual. Normally the only thing that will trigger Windows PPT into
Read Only mode over fonts is when certain fonts are embedded in the PPT file
and the user doesn't have them installed on the computer. Long story, not
worth elaborating on, other than to reiterate that part about "embedded".
Since Mac PPT can't embed fonts in PPTs, that's not likely the issue.

Happy to have a look at it for you though ... if you like, email me a small
