Mac Word 11.1: HTML formatting shows when document saved as WebPage

When I save my Word document as a WebPage and then reopen it, I see
some lines of HTML formatting code at the start of the document. The
document itself has no codes in it, only the beginning. If I delete
them and save the document again, the number of lines doubles. Please
advise how I can save a document in HTML without having the code become
visible.

Try renaming your Normal template. Procedure here:
