Macafee Virus Scan error message

After an abortive attempt to download and instal McAfee Virus Scan the
following message appears now every time I open Outlook. "The add-in
"C:\Program Files\McAfee VirusScan\HawkEx.dll" could not be installed or
loaded. this problem may be solved by using detect and Repair on the Help
menu. Unable to load "C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfeeVirusScan..." You may be
out of memory, out of system resources, or missing a .dll file."

It is surely a missing .dll file as I deleted McAfee, although, clearly not
as effectively as i would have liked. Can anyone suggests how I might remove
this error message?

I have tried Detect and Repair and uninstalling Office XP and reinstalling it.

In Outlook, click Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options. IN either the COM
Add-Ins or Add-In Manager you should see a reference to the McAfee product,
Remove it. If that doesn't work, then it will be in the registry, probably
under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
