Macintosh users can't access website

L

Larry R.

I'm hearing that my customers with Macs can't access my
website, or if they do, its not as designed in FP. Is
there a reason why, and anything I can do about it?
Thanks in advance...Larry

MAC doesn't like the styles you've used and the dymanic animation.

So what does that mean? I can't use any of the dynamic
features at all? And what does that mean about the
styles - what would the problem be there?

Oddly enough I was just dragged to a craft store today by my 5 year old for
"polymer clay".

besides the issue with Mac and the styles/ and possibly the font (MS comic
sans), I feel a clay based duty to tell you that you've got some way heavy
pictures there. they'll absolutely crush a dial up guy. you've got to
"optimize" them. they could all be reduced about 2/3 or more and still look
OK.

Thanks Chris!

My 4 year old daughter likes to make the kaleidoscopes
but she doesn't use clay - she paints them... they're
fun to make...

Font isn't a problem on the Mac but the IE only animation is. On OS X 10.3 I
see MS Comic Sans and I don't have Office installed there currently, it came
with IE 5.2 which is preinstalled on most Macs.

I pulled the site up on my Mac in both IE 5.2 and Safari. I was able to
visit all the pages in the site I tried but I did not see any animations.
Part of the problem when I viewed the site on my Mac is that the alternative
text for the "add to favorites" for non-IE browsers fades into the
background color since it prints out yellow.

It is useable on OS X without the animation but would be improved by
changing the font color on the alternative message to "bookmark this site".

I didn't check it on OS 9 or earlier so that must be what the people are
using who are not getting the site unless they are being timed out by the
large graphics files mentioned earlier in this thread.

While I have a Mac for testing you can get a screen capture of what your
site looks like in a Mac using Safari 1.2 at

Cheryl - thanks for taking the time to write such a
detailed answer - I appreciate it. You may not have seen
the anim. because I removed it after reading that it
might be a problem...thanks again
