Macro and Mail Merge Help

Hi All Long time since ive posed,

situation,

Created a database in access 2003,

Ive Recently Upgraded to Access 2007 and some of the functions and
modules dont seem to work,

the ones im more concerned about are

the following.

I Created a query to filter out only company's that i want labels to
be printed. and then i created a macro that had runApp which then
when i ran the macro fired from a button that marco would open MS word
and also correct document.

When i try running the marco i get some sort of invoke error of the
Runapp etc

So then i decided to try the new inbuilt mailmerge options, followed
the steps, but then it opens a word document. when i select the
database the query is missing and only shows tables???

whats going on here?

Database is a Back end and front end.
and before you ask, when i select the database im selecting the front
end where the query is.
