Macro fails from Tools menu, works when step through in VBA.

I have a macro that fails when run from the Tools menu (Tools > Macro >
Macros > select macro then Run) or when run from a control on the worksheet
that calls the same macro, BUT it works if you step through from the VB
Editor.

To add to the confusion, it only fails when the locale is French (some
people who need to use this run in French locale) but works fine when the
locale is English.

Any suggestions?
