I'm trying to create a macro that will let me make changes to the Table of Contents without changing the headers in the document itself. When I do a global change manually I can highlight the TOC and make the changes to only the TOC, but when I tried to do it with a macro, it changed the whole document.

Without seeing your code, it's impossible to say what the issue is. That said, editing a Table of Contents is generally futile, as anything that causes Word to refresh it (e.g. printing the document) will wipe out the edits.

Thank you. That's very helpful. I'm new to macros, so I thought it might be me.
