Macro in closed workbook

Hi,

I have different workbooks that in one macro it refers to
one database;

I have one excel sheet ( database ) that have all my
employees names, and I want to link it to a different
workbooks as a database ( combobox ).

this wouldnt work unless the database is open, is there
any possiblity to have the link active even when the first
sheet which has the names is closed ?
