Macro in word

I've been trying to create a macro in word v. x. I cannot get past the first
dialog box. If I hit ok or to choose between keyboard or menu bar save the
app quits "unexpectedly". Can anyone help. Thanx.

Trash your Word Preference files in your home Library folder. Or
perhaps your Normal template file is corrupted, which is the file that
has all the macros, autotext and other settings. It's in Documents:
Microsoft User Data folder.

I use macros lots and have never had problems.
