Macros are too generic to do this in Access, but you may be able to code it
using VBA in Access, depending upon the format of this "Microsoft file" you
mentioned. Appending to some file formats will just corrupt the file, not
add data.
VBA procedures are called Macros in Word and Excel, so a Macro in Access
isn't the equivalent of a Macro in the other two applications. However, the
same caveats for appending to files would apply to VBA procedures in those
applications as well.
