Macro Security

Anne

I created simple macros in Word for a national client. The documents will be
saved on many stand alone workstations. Their macro settings are on high and
cannot be changed without gong through extensive meetings/research etc with
IT. I would like to set myself up as a “Trusted Source†so that the macros
can be enabled. How do I do this and how do I install this on their machines.

Hi Anne,

It's the users/admins that determine what will be loaded as a trusted source. :)

If it was something an 'outside' user could do wouldn't be too hard for a virus writer to use the same technique <g>, but this
article on 'signing' your macros with Digital Signatures may be helpful regarding using macros with security set to High in Word.

You may also want to use the links below to post the Word Programming newsgroup on an approach to accomplishing this that will be
successful for you.
