Macro setting up icon not working

Hi all -

I am setting up what I considered a very simple Macro - to create a new Icon
on the Standard Toolbar linked to a Macro which prints Headed Paper. Very
simple. Switched on the Macro recorder, created the Icon, switched it off.
Ran the Macro and it seemed only to do half. It set up the space for the Icon
- where I had placed it - but it was blank, and when I customized it the
Name: section at the top was also totally blank. As am I as to why! No idea
why it would do this - anyone have a clue?
Thanks -- Dika

The macro recorder is selective in what it records. In particular, it
ignores a lot of stuff that goes on in dialogs. You need to look at the
macro code itself, understand it, and deal with the missing bits manually.

But since creating a macro is in effect customising a template anyway, why
not just create the icon as part of the template?

Hi Jezebel - thanks for that - it's kind of what I expected. Yes, I'd thought
of making it part of the template, but this is template out on the network
which the users will open only to copy the Macro set into their existing
Template. I know, they should all use the same one, but that's not my dept. I
have found a way round however. Again thanks.
