please help me create a macro that will delete all double
space and reatin single space only on the entire sheet.

why not use 'Edit - Replace'?

chi, no need for a macro, just use edit, replace, replace what ,put in two
spaces, replace with , put in one space, replace all

How about the case in first space of a column?
e.g.
column 1

Margaret
Anne
Howard

For that you need a "helper" column with a formula like

=TRIM(A1)

that will remove both leading and trailing spaces. Once you've put the
formulas in another column, you can Edit/Copy the column of formulas, then
Edit/Paste Special and select the values option. Then you can delete the
column containing the original text.
