Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Hi,

I am trying to create a macro that converts state names into abbreviations.

Does Excel:Mac:2008 create macros?

What I see..

Click: Tools : Macros. On the right column is (Run, Cancel, Step Into, and Options) At the bottom I see Macros in: (This workbook, or the workbook in which I already created a state abbreviation table).

The ONLY option I can click is "Cancel". Run, Step Into, and Options grayed.

Thanks for your help guys.

No, Excel 2008 does not support macro recording. Nor will it run VBA macros.
That dialog is for XLM macros, which do work properly.
