How do I set up a macro in excel to automatically convert numbers into text
and populate the column to the left with related text? I thought a macro
would help since the process is repetitive however I am consider a vlookup.
Any suggestions-I need this for work. Thanks

Can you be more specific about what you mean by "convert numbers into text"?
Do you mean 1 -> one, 287 -> two hundred eighty seven? Or something different?

Yes, for example:
Center=9320 and Merced
Division=Oakland

I have 5 division names and over 20 centers with names that correlate to its
center number. When I import the data I have an excel sheet that shows a
column with the center numbers. I want to import the data and have the
center numbers appear as its text name and also insert a division column to
the left of it that will show the centers division. I hope I explained this
clearly. I have been pulling my hair out at work trying to automate this
process because doing find/replace and click and drag is time consuming when
you have reports that have to go out with an hour. Thanks.

YOu need to set up a VLOOKUP table, and have the macro go down the column of
center numbers, lookup each one, and replace it with the center name; also put
the corresponding division in the next column.
