macros

whenever i open word 2003 it tells me macros are disabled and refers me to
online help which does not explain how to do the error box that this info is
quoted in is microsoft visual basic
question is do i want to enable macros or not ?
if i do how do i do it ?
my operating system is xp home edition

You need to set the macro security to medium and to trust installed
templates and add-ins
(tools > options > security)
