Mail merge and Custom Label

K

Ket Kana

Hello, I hope someone is able to assist. I am using Word
2K with Windows 2K.
I have created a custom label which is in fact a place
card.
The problem I have is the following:
The placecard once printed is folded in half along it's
horizontal axis and will have a persons name on either
side.
With a traditional mail merge, I can create the fields in
the correct place on the card, but once folded, the name
on one of the sides would be upside down.
I need one of the fields to be upside down and read from
right to left so that once folded, it's looks correct from
both sides. I'm trying to avoid printing labels and then
sticking them on as this might appear a little 'tacky'.
Any assistance to this perplexing problem would be most
welcome.

Regards,

Hi Ket,

You'll need to set up the table that forms the labels by
hand, probably, but once you have that, the rest should be
easy enough.

Display the Tables and Borders toolbar. Select the column on
the left and rotate the text 90° one way with the "Change
text direction" button. Select the column on the right and
rotate the text 90° the other way with that button.
With a traditional mail merge, I can create the fields in
the correct place on the card, but once folded, the name
on one of the sides would be upside down.
I need one of the fields to be upside down and read from
right to left so that once folded, it's looks correct from
both sides.
