Mail merge field size

I'm having trouble with the whole field prining on some entries. I have
addresses up to 30 positions. Some only display 15 characters and then end
with a "dash" other display up to 25 characters, so I know font size is not
the solution.

Excel is the data source, and the field is defined as text. Using the len
built in function in Excel gives correct field lengths. Both Excel and
Publisher are 2003.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Lee

Expand the merge text box. Scroll through the entries in Step 4 of the merge
wizard, adjust the text box(es) so all the entries fit. I have no idea what the
"dash" means, it could have something to do with the entry contents. I do know
if there is overflow the overflow icon is shown on the merge text box.

I have just imported the Excel file into an Access DB and repeated the
Publisher mail merge with exactly the same results. So rule out that option.

Thanks, Mary.

Increasing the size of the text box made no difference. The result is the
same. I aslo did decrease the font size, significantly, with no effect.

Here's what I meant about the dash.

1234 Same street would appear in full, but
1234 Any street would appear as 1234 Any str-

So sometimes, the longer address appears in full, while the shorter one is
truncated.

Any further thoughts?

There is a 255 character limit in merge fields; if your field goes over this
limit it will be truncated. You would have to setup two fields.
