Mail Merge handling "word fields" like if...then...else

I am new to merging documents. I am using MS Office 2003. I have to merge a
page of labels with some different addresses.
I have the fields "Surname""Company""Address1""Town" etc. Some of the
recipients do not have a company name. I do not want to have a blank line on
the label instead of the non existent company name. Is there a way for
Office to skip the company name when there is none and go on to "Address1"?
Should I use some of those - at this stage - complicated fields like "if"
"then" "else" (too advanced for me at this early stage).
Can someone please advise. Thanks. Yappy Box

Hi Yappy,

You may want to also post in the MS Word Mailmerge newsgroup using the links below for help with that feature.

In Mailmerge, at the Arrange your labels step, pick "More Items" instead
of "Address block" and then Database fields. In doing it that way the
empty filds don't appear in the label.
