mail merge with printer freeze after 500 of 700 newsletters

I am trying to figure out if I have a corrupt mail merge file. We do a 10
page newsletter every month and send it to 700 customers. We use publisher
2003. This
month we had problems finishing this job because the printer began freezing
after the 500th newsletter. The printer techs think it is a Publisher mail
merge error.
Is there any way to analyze or troubleshoot our files to see if we have some
corrupt informatiion before we do this print job again?
