Mail Merge

vb

Hello. I hope someone can help

I want to send a mail shot by email.
Win XP
Office 2003
I have a table with the field - e-mail -
I click on the Office Links > Merge it with Word
In 'select document type' I choose > E-mail Messages
For source I choose the database and then the table
But when I merge a window comes up
where it says To and Subject etc

in To I choose e-mail then ok but a window opens
Saying Micros Office outlood doesn not recognise ' x - x - x@ h x s .com
(example)
for every single email.
How can I fix this please. Or is there a better way of doing this??

Thanks for your replies.
When I do as you say Zanuck, using a recipient list from Excel, or Word, it
does work fine.
But it's when I want to use a list from Access that I get the problem.

It also works if I export the table to Excel and merge it with that. But
it's a bit long winded that way.

Hi Jen,

odd. I was talking about merging using the "to" address from within an
Access table. When using the wizard, you select a data source which is the
table within the MDB file. I don't have the software in front of me at
present but, if you like, I can document the steps and send you a complete
sequence. Interested?

PS - I'm assuming that the email addresses are valid. (i.e. that either
they are fully qualified as in [email protected] or that your (Exchange?) server
is able to qualify the alias.) An easy test would be to simply add yourself
to the table in the same format as the other addresses and see whether you
are able to send to that text string by copying & pasting it into an email
"to" line.

Anyway, hope you're enjoying your Sunday!

Hi,

I had no problem doing a email mailmerge from within Word. Create the
message in Word, use the Tools | Letters and Mailings | Mailmerge menu
option. Walk through the steps and select the fields needed. Send as per
the wizard.

It worked like a charm for me (complete with formatting and graphics).

Good luck!
