Mail Message Goes Behind Main Window KInstead of Opening in Front

M

Mkate

I am working on a new Vista machine running Office 2007 applications. When I
try to open a message in Outlook, it goes behind the main window. When I
first boot up the computer, I may be successful in opening one possibly two
messages and viewing them normally; after that everything else goes behind
the main window.

It appears that something is set to always have this window forward and my
open messages behind. I have looked at all the settings that I am aware of
and cannot see anything.

If I try to click on the message tab on my task bar it will not switch
windows. To read an e-mail that I have opened, I have to minimize the
windows in front of the message until I can see the mail message I am trying
to read.

Has anyone else had this problem and can you share the fix for it?

Thanks very much for your response.

Hello Diane,

Thank you for your message and the URL. I did review the site. I finally
contacted my IT department and they sent me a Outlook tool link (via a chat
session) to run on my machine. This tool cleaned out my Registry and
everything is running normal again.

I appreciate your quick response.

Do you have any addins installed? Does it work correctly if you open
outlook in safe mode?

I'm not sure if http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957692/en-us applies.
