Mail not sending

J

John Wright

When I send a message the mail appears in the outbox and will sit there
until I click a new folder, or click the new email button. Clicking the
send/receive button does not move the mail. I have gone through all the
troubleshooting steps from microsoft such as run a scan on the personal
email folder, etc. Also I am not receiving email right away when people
send it to me. Email I send out appears immediately when I send it, but
must go through the same steps (click on another folder or new email item)
to get email I received. I am using the corporate edition with an exchange
server. The exchange admin is stumped. Any help is appreciated.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, John Wright asked:

We're experiencing similar problems in our environment.
I found that by disabling ISA Firewall Client problem goes
away. Secondly it you add Outlook.exe in ISA configuration
to the applications to be ignored by ISA FC, outlook works
fain again. However, after this you can not receive all of
the imbedded pictures which my customers want to see. So,
can anyone tell me what am I missing in either our ISA
config or Outlook setup.
