Mail Profiles Outlook and and Groupwise server

I have been having a problem displaying simple SMTP mail recieved on our
Groupwise server using Outlook as the mail client for our users. Can someone
explain the difference between using an e-mail profile account that uses the
Novell Groupwise Transport Provider type MAPI and a profile that uses a
server name with POP/SMTP.

They're different types of mail accounts - POP downloads to a local file,
and I presume your GW/MAPI accesses your groupwise mailboxes directly,
leaving all data on the server as would be the preferred setup.

What problems are you having? What version of Outlook? Have you checked with
GW support?
