Mail remain marked as unread

Hello Everybody

First of all : Happy New Year.

We have a problem using Outlook 2003 - Exchange server 2003 :

One man gives delegation to two delegates on the Inbox :

Delegate 1 opens the man's mailbox as a secondary mailbox
Delegate 2 opens the man's mailbox with file open Other user's folder

When Delegate 1 marks a mail as read within the manager's mailbox,
the mail is then marked as "read" for Delegate 2 but stays as "unread" for
the manager

When Delegate 2 marks a mail as read within the manager's mailbox,
the mail is then marked as "read" for Delegate 1 but stays as "unread" for
the manager.

I try to redo the problem on a test machine. But I can't.

Is there an option in Outlook to reset, to change, .... ?

What could be done to change the unread status to a read status in the man's
mailbox ?
