Mail trapped in outbox, causing send and receive failure.

Hi, One of our users has an email trapped in their outbox
and this is causing both the sending and receiving of
messages to fail. I have run scanpst on their .pst file
and also rebooted the machine. From what I can see there
would seem to be part of the message in the mapi spooler.
Does anyone know where I can find out more about this type
of problem or how to overcome it? Thanks for taking the
