mailbox corrupt?

I have the following setup:

Server:
NT 4.0
Exchange
small business backoffice

Client:
Win 98
Outlook 2000 for small business

Something is wrong with outlook

every time I select my calendar, outlook closes instantly and give me this
error:
OUTLOOK caused an invalid page fault in
module OUTLLIB.DLL at 017f:3a46a110.

I have tried every suggestion the outlook folk have given me to correct this
problem, all to no avail.

Now they are suggesting I delete my mailbox in exchange. Although I am IT, I
am really an architect
doing this because no one else here has the propensity (rookie)

How exactly should I do this, without loosing all of the info on my contacts
and calendar?
If it matters, I have a PDA that is mostly current, and could sync back to
my client if I trash everything on the client.

Should I delete the mailbox, or set myself us a s a different user?
What would be the most effective route?

Thanks for your time,
jojo

Create a new user account for yourself, and use that for testing.

If that works ok, then you can use ExMerge to move the data out of the old
mailbox, and then into the new.
Exmerge is available at www.microsoft.com/exchange in the downloads section.

Any possibility of upgrading to Outlook 2003 (you would need to upgrade OS to at
least W2K; also Outlook licenses are included with each Exchange license,
AFAIK)?

Thank you! worked like a charm.

I did not use ExMerge, as I was afraid of recreating the problem.
Just plugged in my PDA and said "sync"
