mailform problem

M

Mike

I made a page and used a mailform. I uploaded it to my host using cuteftp.
Frontpage ext are installed on my server.
You can guess it, does not work.
I get a 404 page when I click on send. I added my email adress and an
exitpage, but I do not receive a think and the exit page does not show.
So I thought try upload direct with Frontpage, but when I want to click on
'publish' it does not work, coz somehow it is not activated (not clickable).
Anybody?

Mike

OK, well, that's your first mistake. As long as your
hoisted site has the FrontPage server extensions
installed, *never* update it by FTP.

First, because you've been updating the live site by FTP,
you'll probably need to open the remote site directly in
FrontPage, then choose Recalculate Hyperlinks from the
Tools menu.

Then, in order for the Publish command to be available,
you need to open a FrontPage Web site (not just an
individual Web page). To do this:

1. Start FrontPage.
2. Choose Open Site (or, in FP2002 and earlier, Open Web)
from the File menu.
3. Open the folder where your Web site begins.
4. Use the FrontPage Publish command to update your live
site.

Adding to Jim's comments...the extensions may now be corrupted as a result
of FTPing, and the host may have to run a check/fix or even reinstall them.
