mailing address multiple lines

In the mailing address box, you are only given one line to type the address.

I regularly mail to accounts that have 2 (sometimes 3) necessary lines in
their "street" address, such as

XYZ Company
This department
123 Main St
City, St Zip

When I try to export this, I always get all the street address fields in ONE
field in Excel or a Word merge.

Is there any way to have multiple street address lines and have them export
to separate fields in Excel/Access/Word?

Microsoft apps (Outlook, Exchange, BCM) store the street address in a
single field, but that field should allow multiple lines.

Those aren't be exported to CSV files as multiple lines, because many
systems expect CSV files to have one record per line.

I'm not sure why the new line characters would get stripped from
exports to Excel files.

You could try connecting directly to the database's public accounts
and contacts views from those applications. The address fields in
those views contain the new line characters.
