Mailmerge Excel to Word

I'm trying to merge addresses from Excel XP to Word XP by
way of the mail merge wizard. It says it needs an import
converter. I can't find anyway or anything to make it
work. Any solutions??

Oh, that sounds like fun! Are you selecting a connection
method (Word's internal spreadsheet converter), by any
chance?

If not, if you go to Tools/Options/General and activate
"Confirm conversions on open" you should get a list once
you've selected the Excel sheet. What entries do you see in
this list? Does selecting DDE or ODBC (assuming they're
there) give you a better result?
