Mailmerge from Outlook 2000

I have recently had to reload Office 2000 following a crashed harddrive since when we have been unable to mailmerge from Contacts to Word. I get the message "The operation failed due to network or other communcation problems". I had recovered our Contacts data from our hp Jornada handheld. Is there some additional configuring needed and if so how do I achieve this. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to make sure you have setup the Outlook Address Book Service
correctly in your Outlook profile and set Outlook as your default mail
program.

I have tried to follow your suggestions and have picked up similar advice you gave to another user but all to no avail. I am unable to locate the prompts you have given and I wondered if you could set out the various steps and the window I should be starting from. Thanks.
