Maintenance plan for project server databases

Just inherited an sql server that belong to project server, already i have
issues with the data file size and log file size et up by the vendor. I
backed up the problem database (reporting) increased the dtabse files and
shrank the files. That we think may have corrupted the index. now. i do not
have amanul but does any one know where i can get good tips on taking care of
these databses, i am not sure the usual sql server best practices apply.
