Major Outlook 2003 Problems

I keep having problems in outlook connecting to my mail servers, both
incoming and outgoing.

i can ping it and i've even changed to other mail servers, but still no joy.

Outlook keeps throwing up unable to connect to mail server. error 0x80042108.

Ive tried different dns servers as well.

Are these mail servers IMAP style?
