major problem w/page numbering, please help!

M

Meenie

Some friends and I have a Dinner Group. After we get together, one of our
group types up the recipes in Word and sends them out to everyone. She is
having a huge problem with the page numbering.
At first it appeared that the problem was with the different sections she
had. She attempted to fix that.
The latest recipe she sent had the page numbers in the bottom left. They
looked good with one exeption... the numbers were from 279 - 283, BUT page
280 is repeated, so we have page 270, 280, 280, 281, 282, and 283.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks!

Make the second page 280 the active page. i.e. the insertion point should be
flashing on the page. Then from the Insert menu, click Insert Page Number.
Click Format and make sure "Start At" isn't selected and set to 280. If so,
then select the option "Continue from previous section" (going by memory so
the wording may be a little different). Click OK, and then in the Page
Number dialog box, click *CLOSE* - do not click OK or you might insert
another page number instead of changing only the format.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.
