Make Bar Graphs Wider

I have a PPT slide that I import from excel. The labels for the bars are 7/1,
7/8, 7/15 ETC.(Weekly). The bars are very thin and gaps between the bars very
wide. How do I make the bars wider and the gap narrower from within
powerpoint.

Double-click to open the graph. It will open in an Excel window.

Right-click a data series and choose Format Data Series. Go to the Options
tab. Adjust overlap and gap.

Hi Tony & Echo,

This sounds more like the axis is being treated as Time series rather
than Categorys due to the date labels.

Right click the chart and pick Chart Options. On the axis tab set the x
axis to Category rather than Automatic.

I think this is exactly what I wanted, it worked.

Ah, great! It didn't occur to me that you didn't want the time series. (So
glad there are Excel guys who read here, too.)
