make BCM and OUTLOOK easier to schedule calendar appointments & ta

F

functioning funk

I am using OUTLOOK 2007 WITH BCM.
I cannot figure out how to schedule an appointment with a contact (either
from CONTACTS OR BCM) and have it show up on my calendar WITH the contact
name. I always have to type the contact name....I think it should show
WITHOUT my having to type it...I have moved from ACT to OUTLOOK 2007. ACT
always put the CONTACT NAME in my calendar space without my typing it. I have
approached this by first pulling up the contact, then scheduling an activity.
I have tried linking in different ways...??? I DO NOT ALWAYS WISH TO SEND THE
CONTACT AN EMAIL. I just want the contact name to show in the calendar...for
example:

I want to schedule a meeting with ONE CONTACT...say ABC company. I pull up
the "schedule a meeting" menu available from several places (righ click in
calendar, menu in BCM, etc) I type in "meeting to discuss April plans" I save
and close. Next month in my calendar, I see I have a meeting on the 4th...I
double click on the meeting and do not know who it is with. This does not
seem helpful.

I also do not want to make linking and tasks a two or three step process. I
would like to open a contact...see the history in detail and schedule an appt
all in one place....MUCH LIKE I ONCE DID WITH ACT!

Come on...give me what i need!!

Not the convenient solution, but you can open the appointment and click Link
To Record button on the form. It will show you the business contact it is
linked to.

I have noted your suggestion as a feature improvement.

One would think this was a simple thing that could be added easily. Without
this feature the app is virtually useless. This function is in almost every
basic CRM solution. Not being able to link a contact name to an appointment
is just, well a big oversite and needs to be rectified.
Thanks,
Joel

Will this problem be solved in BCM 2010? for Appointments, Meetings, and
Tasks. I schedule most of my meetings by phone and then just want to record
them in my calendar without having to send an email.
