Make movie in X with animations

I am trying to "Make movie" in PPT X. The slide has a simple timed
animation. The movie displays the whole slide at once, without the timing.
Is this just the way it is, or am I missing something about creating the
animations or movie? Is it a problem solved in PPT 2004?

Solved my own problem with more experimentation. I was using animations
within a single text field, which show up in PowerPoint, but not in movies.
Instead I used separate text field, for which animations show up properly in
both PowerPoint and in movies.
