Hi,

How do I make a section of a page printable? so visitors
don't have to print the entire page.

Thanks

Hi, thanks; I checked out that link you suggested; it was
working fine; but now it is giving me some coding at top
and the print function won't work.

Any suggestions. Here is the link to my site; the page in
question is 'order form'

Hi Lisa,

It looks like the following comment line is interferring with the script function, hence not reading this as script, but text ...

_________________________

******************************************************** -->
<!-- * END TRIPOD AD CODE - PLEASE REMOVE WHEN EDITING PAGE * -->
<!-- ******************************************************** -->

Remove this and see if that takes things back to normal.

I can't figure out how to get rid of that stuff (guess
it's from the tripod ads). It works fine in preview. Ok
how do I open my online site and save the changes to
modify it?

Thanks

Lisa,

You can go to HTML view. Find the code and simply highlight and delete it.
You don't have to open live to do this.

If you have a need to open live, go to File >> Open and type your website address in the box normally reserved for page name. It can take a while for this to open the page list.

I have a 12 hour shift today, so it will be a while before I can reply again.

Ok thanks for you help. I have deleted the print script
for now; making me crazy lol.

I don't see that tripod coding that seems to getting in
the way when I open my harddrive site and go to html
view; but I do when I open the online site. I wasn't sure
how to open it and then how to save or publish the
changes.

Thanks; I'll check back later.

Hey Lisa,

If you open live and look at the code, it says to remove it before editing. I am not well versed with Tripod, but it must insert the code again after saving or publishing.
Although I myself am not a Java coder, I do know that whenever I have put anything within the script that isn't code, like the Tripod comment, usually my script quits working.

Ok thanks; I removed the Tripod stuff but ya as soon as I
publish it, it's back. The price of using free hosting I
guess lol.

Thanks a bunch for you time.

Hi Lisa,

I believe this is always added back. You can't eliminate it completely. For some reason, it was appearing inside the script tag. That is why the code appeared on the page.

No offense to tripod, but if you need a free FrontPage host, http://NetFirms.com is a good one. They maintain a top banner, but the extnsions work well and you shouldn't have any problem using the print friendly code.

Honestly, you can get good FP hosting for as little as $4.95 a month.

Ya I know it was just sort of a parking place. I created
the site myself and as I guess you can see I'm not a
webmaster; but I sure love making webs and using
FrontPage. New business so no budget. I will check out
those other sites and eventually pay for hosting to avoid
those darn ads. :)

Thanks
Lisa
